Celebrate Recovery

"Celebrate Recovery has saved my life."

"It has helped me find God again."

There are many different addictions in this world. Celebration Recovery is a place where people can deal with their hurts, hang-ups and habits. By working through the eight recovery principles found in a relationship with Jesus Christ as your Higher Power, you can change. You will begin to experience the true peace and serenity you have been seeking, and you will no longer have to rely on your compulsive and addictive behaviors as a temporary "fix" for your pain.

What we learn

Celebration Recovery is a biblically-based recovery program for those who desire freedom from the bondages of addiction. The program combines biblical principles from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount and 12 Christ-centered steps in a fellowship based setting. The group meets on Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Contact Doug Urness (665-3565) for further information.

GriefShare

Thursdays
7:00-8:30 PM in the
Chapel at Calvary Baptist Church
Yankton, SD (behind Bonanza)

Grief is one of the most painful and stressful experiences in life. Healing from grief is complicated by the fact that we feel so ill equipped to deal with it and that grief is such an unpredictable healing process. Understanding grief and experiencing healing in a context of safe and strong support are both indispensable components to a healthy healing process.

GriefShare A from Church Initiative on Vimeo.

GriefShare is a Christ-centered ministry designed to facilitate the healing process for those who are experiencing grief as the result of the death of a spouse or loved one. The format includes fellowship, the expertise of counselors, authors, speakers and pastors with years of experience in grief recovery (via DVD), strong interactive support with other participants, and website access to outstanding grief resources.

GriefShare serves as a learning resource and support group for people experiencing grief and loss and is held on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. at the Yankton Community Library. GriefShare is offered three times a year. However, because of the nature of the material being used and because of the nature of grief, an individual can begin to attend at any time. For more information or to register for the sessions, call Pastor Terry Port (665-5594).
