AWANA®
AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (found in II Timothy 2:15). AWANA® is a Bible-based club for children to learn God's Word in a fun and safe environment regardless of denomination. The program is for any child 3 years old (by September 1st of the current school year) through 6th grade.
The goal of AWANA is to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him.
Classes and Grades
Cubbies is for 3-4 year old children. Sparks is the next level, for kindergarten-2nd grade. Truth and Training is for 3-4th graders and 5-6th graders. We meet on most Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:10 pm.
Newcomer Information
Newcomers will need to register their child. The child will be placed in the appropriate section according to their grade. We have an Opening Ceremony for all sections of AWANA. Each group moves through Council Time, Handbook Time and Game Time. Cubbies have singing, handbook, lesson and play time. We have dedicated leaders with each group.
There are no registration fees for AWANA. We encourage each child to purchase an AWANA uniform (a vest or shirt) which costs $12.00-$21.00. All handbooks and awards are provided free. The parent would be responsible for replacing any lost books. We do have freewill offerings each night to support our AWANA missionaries, Arlyn and Marcy Neiss.
Community and Events
Our AWANA Club participates in local regional tournaments, where students share their knowledge and meet children and leaders from other churches in the area.
Each Wednesday night, we have 40-45 adults interacting and teaching the AWANA Clubbers. These leaders have the opportunity to make lasting connections and impressions with the children.
