The AWANA Club at Calvary Baptist Church meets each Wednesday night from 6:30-8:10 p.m. during the school year.   All children age 3 through sixth grade are welcome to attend.  For more information, please contact the church office at 605-665-5594 or cbcsecretary@iw.net.

AWANA takes its name from 2 Timothy 2:15, "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed".  AWANA is an international, Bible-centered ministry with the goal of reaching boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and training them to serve Him.  Each evening consists of active Bible learning (Council Time), fun social interaction (Game Time), and memorizing God’s Word (Handbook Time).

  • Handbook Time:  This is the time when clubbers can say verses they have learned during the week.  They will earn awards for passing sections in the Handbook.

  • Council Time:  Through Bible stories, object lessons, and active learning, clubbers will be learning more about God’s Word and how to apply it to their lives.

  • Games:  A fun time of friendly competition, uniquely created around the AWANA circle.
