The upcoming holidays are known as a time of thanksgiving and peace on earth.  Unfortunately for many the holidays are just the opposite - struggling to find something to be thankful for and or dealing with stress and the pangs of loss.

Calvary Baptist Church is seeking to help and encourage people who are facing the holidays either after the death of a loved one or following separation or divorce.  The church will be offering two seminars in different locations on Saturday, November 22, from 10:00-11:30 a.m.

The GriefShare workshop for those who have lost loved ones will be held at the Yankton Community Library, 515 Walnut St.  The DivorceCare workshop for those who are separated or who have experienced divorce will be held at the Douglas Reception Center, 325 Douglas Ave. in Yankton.

Both workshops will address questions such as “Why the Holidays are Tough,” “What to Expect,” “How to Prepare,” “How to Manage Relationships and Holiday Socials” and “Using the Holidays to Help you to Heal.”

Participants in both workshops will be given a book that contains 30 daily readings which provide “additional insights and ideas on holiday survival.”

To register for either workshop call 605-665-5594.  If you want more information about either GriefShare or DivorceCare please visit the specific pages on our website.
